By November 5, 2015 August 2nd, 2022 No Comments

Houston, TEXAS – Integrated Oncology Network, LLC and its subsidiary Sightline Health, LLC (“ION”) and St. Joseph’s Medical Center (“St. Joseph’s”), jointly announced today that ION’s Houston subsidiary, which operates two radiation centers in Houston, Texas (“Sightline Houston”) has formed an affiliation with St. Joseph’s, a leading hospital provider in Houston Texas. Sightline Houston will become an additional point of service for St. Joseph’s oncology network. St. Joseph Medical Center (SJMC) has been rebranded as St. Joseph Cancer Center.

“This acquisition is part of our strategic plan to extend St. Joseph’s reach beyond downtown and to deliver high quality healthcare services to more Houstonians,” said Mark Bernard, CEO of SJMC. “The November 2012 opening of St. Joseph Medical Center in the Heights began this initiative and it continues today as the cancer centers offer advanced treatments delivered by dedicated teams of nurses and staff who have all transitioned to be part of St. Joseph.”

“ION has been focused on expanding our networks across the United States of more than 250 multispecialty oncology-focused physicians to affiliate with larger providers and healthcare systems in their market to provide quality and cost efficient patient care. ION is honored to broaden our network with St. Joseph’s,” stated Jeffery Goffman, ION’s CEO and Co-Founder. “The St. Joseph’s relationship demonstrates our focus to affiliate and partner with leading hospitals, while maintaining our comprehensive physician network. We will continue to seek such prestigious hospital relationships in all of our markets.”

“We are excited to be working side-by-side with IASIS Healthcare and St. Joseph Medical Center to provide the latest in cancer care treatments to patients in the Houston and West Houston communities,” said Chris Bright, Chief Operating Officer of ION. “We are pleased to have found a partner in IASIS who shares our commitment to providing high-quality care to the communities we serve.”

Sightline Houston offers breakthrough technologies, including Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) and Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), that offer new hope to individuals who are battling cancer. IMRT is the most technologically advanced and most precise method of external beam radiation therapy available. IGRT takes this technology one step further by delivering high doses of radiation directly to the treatment area while sparing surrounding tissue. Both therapies provide cancer treatment more precisely and with less risk, and both are beneficial for many different types of cancer.
