Integrated Oncology Network and Covenant Health Announce Affiliation in Lubbock

By September 8, 2015 August 2nd, 2022 No Comments

Houston, TEXAS – Integrated Oncology Network, LLC (“ION”) and its subsidiary SightLine Health, LLC, and Covenant Health today jointly announced that ION’s Lubbock subsidiary has formed an affiliation with Covenant, the leading hospital provider in Lubbock, Texas. ION’s Lubbock location will be called Covenant Health Outpatient Radiation Treatment Center and will become an additional point of service for Covenant’s strong oncology network, anchored by the Joe Arrington Cancer Research and Treatment Center.

“Covenant is proud to announce our relationship with ION to expand access to high-quality oncology services to our community,” said Richard Parks, Covenant Health CEO. “Health care is changing nationally, and Covenant Health is actively evolving to a new care delivery model. In addition to modernizing our hospital facilities and emphasizing prevention and wellness, Covenant is responding to patients’ medical needs by providing more outpatient services and physician offices close to where people live and work. Covenant’s relationship with ION is one more example of our investment in and commitment to the Lubbock community.”

“ION has been focused on expanding our networks across the United States of more than 250 multispecialty oncology-focused physicians to affiliate with larger providers and healthcare systems in their market to provide quality and cost-efficient patient care. ION is honored to broaden our network with Covenant Health,” said Jeffery Goffman, ION’s CEO and co-founder. “The Covenant relationship demonstrates our focus to affiliate and partner with leading hospitals, while maintaining our comprehensive physician network. We will continue to seek such prestigious hospital relationships in all of our markets.”

The radiation facility offers breakthrough technologies, including Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) and Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), that offer new hope to individuals who are battling cancer. IMRT is the most technologically advanced and most precise method of external beam radiation therapy available. IGRT takes this technology one step further by delivering high doses of radiation directly to the treatment area while sparing surrounding tissue. Both therapies provide cancer treatment more precisely and with less risk, and both are beneficial for many different types of cancer.
